The look and say method of reading is where you learn using whole word sounds to train the memory. This means that the child does not really understand what they are reading and is not using all of the natural processes that the mind uses to learn and decipher information or in other words not processing and internalizing the information that they are trying to read. Learning this way generally makes understand anything much harder. How? Because it first teaches a child’s memory to build mental patterns of blindly following information at an unconscious incompetence level, instead of using a conscious competence level which is only possible when using more of the facilities of the mind and after a long period of learning this way their mind becomes comfortable operating at this lower level all the time. With the look and say method the child accepts new whole word groups without understanding and using any associates or seeing patterns from the last group of words that they were previously learning. This teaches their mind to not want to learn new information because they are not making associations a very important process in learning. This also makes learning not fun because the faculties of the mind such as imagination and reasoning are not being used.
This child will not be using a very fundamentally important part of their mind and caring this into adulthood produces disastrous results such as over dependencies, dis-empowering ideas and limiting beliefs. Raise your child to think for their-selves using the full faculties of the mind; memory, perception, will, intuition, imagination and reasoning and they will naturally be successful in business, family life, or reach any of the upper levels of consciousness such as developing a photographic memory. If you truly understand this you will know that this is monumentally important to the child, the continuing development of humankind and the universe as a whole. Once you train your brain in the right way to learn you can master anything you set before you.
Thank you for your time, and I hope for much success to you in whatever you are doing.
